We recently upgraded from a BP "gas card" to a BP VISA card, so the rebate/ cash back on card usage comes as a gas discount. By yesterday we were entitled to a discount of $2.46/gal, but only actually got a $1.92 discount. So with about 50c still unused, within about another two-three weeks we can probably get a similar discount again. 
The rebates are higher during the first six months, but even later on I expect that the ongoing rebates will be sufficient to get us 20gal/month that is virtually free.

My wife just got a job less than a mile from our house. She's driving in at the moment but will also walk it when it's not so humid. I bet she'll make 100 gallons last about that long.

How do you fetch the mail? 
Our next door neighbour used to get her car out of the garage to go and collect the mail. After driving down the road to our house to turn her car around she then collected the mail on the way back home!
