Local Roadway is now at 1.95. That's the lowest I've seen since moving to Florida.

Stuck in the $2.30's around here, we need a shrug icon.

After the spike of a couple of weeks ago, prices are all over the place, most are $2.099 but others are at various prices between $2.019 and $2.069, a few have slipped below $2.00. I suspect that "the Thanksgiving Effect" might be keeping prices hugher and that they will slip again in about ten days.

You are fortunate to have a competitive market. Refineries have been a NIMBY issue on the West coast for 30 years. As an example Oregon does not have a single refinery. 140 refineries in the US, Oregons population ranks 27th. All gasoline must move north from central/north California, or south from the Puget sound. Not much competition.

How the hell is it cheaper here than there? Just about every station I pass to and from work is at around $1.97 or so.

That's not bad for California, though

The gas stations don't even try to pretend they compete here, they all price at the same price, it's a rare day if any of them are a different price.

The native station will usually be 1 cent less, but it's a bit out of the way, and the savings is not worth the extra drive, for a full tank from empty it would be a like a whole 43 cent savings.

1.17 per liter CAD$ yesterday. (4.44 CAD per US Gal approx 3.33 USD$)

We still have to subsidize the pump jockeys and soon they will want $15/hr.

We have a couple city's around who require pump jockey's and don't let you pump, luckily it's not province wide. Gas in those regions are the same cost though, they generally have 1 person handling all the pumps, and one person inside, so no increase in staffing, just longer waits to get gas which is good reason to avoid those city's.

Likely fewer drive-offs and lower liability insurance too.

Here it is state wide. yes we get long lines, but people take life slowly around here. They would rather sit in a line of 10 cars than pull to the pump that is on the wrong side.
