The rip-off gas station in Stateline, NV upped the prices again to $4.66/gal yesterday...

I'm shopping for a Diesel truck, the 12mpg my Jeep gets are getting on my nerves a little

2.2L engine, a full tank cost about $50.00 right now (4.31 per gallon) I am still not complaining yet.

For normal driving I have an old Miata that tends to get over 30mpg on my commute and a motorbike that gets over 50mpg. With those two I don't care that much about fuel cost but neither of them has 4WD and that's a must out here. Hence the Jeep with the drinking problem...

Git! My tank was $82 and that was regular!!

I was still lusting for a bike until a couple of weeks ago when a seemingly sensible motorbike lost it in the lane to my right and came off straight in front of me. Still don't know how I managed to miss him, he came off 15 feet in front of me on the freeway, straight into my lane. Back to being happily sat in my car now. He wasn't being silly either, his back wheel just stepped out. Scary stuff.

A motorbike, in Texas? Wow. I am often horrified at the bikers I see on I-10 in Houston. Weaving through traffic with t-shirt, shorts and a helmet on.

You mean NO helmet right?! I'm still amazed at:
a) the fact it's not a legal requirement to wear a helmet
b) the number of people that don't wear helmets

I mean, you don't have to be a physicist to know that at over 30 mph, head vs concrete is a one sided battle.

Oh and back on topic, gas is now at $3.85 most places here.

It's the wearing a helmet as the only bit of protective gear that amazes me.

$4.20 for 93 RON around here. Although getting $0.10 off a gallon at Randalls helps, as they don't push the prices up to compensate, at least in Katy. I save the $1.00 off for the 25 gallon fill on Weeze's Canyonero.

I'm not quite so bad, it's about $65 for a full tank of regular...it's supposed to take premium, but I've not been able to afford to do that in years

Well they're pretty dead at that point so it doesn't matter...it's the fact they don't seem to mind the road rash that sends the creepy crawlies up my spine
