Poppy Appeal 2014
Gosh is it the autumn already?!
I've got the Poppy tin out for 2014.
If you'd like a Poppy (or a number of poppies) please PM me and let me know. I'll give you a contact address to send a donation (last year $2 a poppy seemed about the right mark, but whatever you can afford is fine).
If you can include an stamped SAE that would be a big help as postage costs will come out my own pocket - 100% of donations will go in the tin.
All proceeds are sent to the Royal British Legion 1st Florida Branch. Thanks!!

Good to see you're doing this again!
For those in Boston, the consulate usually have them too, but they often do fairly quickly.

Cheers Bob - every donation is greatly received, it's nice to have a place to come where others like to mark the event!

Just curious what do you plan to do with it?
Stick it in the garden? display it somewhere in your home? Maybe close to a photo of the display at the tower of London etc, just keep it as a collectible? or something else.

I did not buy it as a decorative item, any more than I do the paper poppies I buy every year. It will probably be visible in my house somewhere, however.

Good question. In my case I couldn't resist the concept, as it were. I have no idea what I'll do with it once it arrives. No need to worry about the answer for a few weeks yet!

I was up the Shard in August and remember seeing something red around the Tower of London, and wondering what on earth it was. Wish I had gone to look now!
