Default Poor condition passport?

I've been carrying my Passport around with me daily for a couple of years now as ID. It is in pretty poor condition now. If I get a new Passport after applying for my AOS will it be an issue when the Passport Numbers change to the ones on the forms I am about to submit?

Any advice would be appreciated!

No, it won't be an issue.

Couldn't you get a State ID, rather than carrying around your passport for ID? That must be bulky!

Thanks, that's good to know, I don't want to delay getting this paperwork in any longer.

My Visa has expired so I can't verify my legal presence with the DMV, so I can't get a state ID. I only have a UK drivers license for ID and that's not always accepted.

Couldn't you have gotten a State ID before your visa expired? Too late now, I know, but just curious why you NEVER got one at all?

I believed I had my Drivers License coming in the mail from the DMV so I thought I would of had that before my visa expired, then when I realised it wasn't coming it was too late to get the State ID with my Visa. My fault for not getting it straight away.
