Please use the following to check the Broker that you sent money to California Bureau of Real Estate It is a State (government) site and you should find the NAME of the BROKER listed if they are licensed Please keep me updated how you get on. If I can help in anyway please let me know

Thanks Bill, yes the broker is licensed so hopefully everything is good
Luckily for you there are no iffy real estate brokers in the US.
