There has to be far too many Muslim clerics fueling the Islamic militants. All western countries needs local community Muslim spies in every Mosque in the western world. Clerics identified as problems could wake up in some Muslim country with no passport and a permanent ban on returning to any western country.

Well, it's not all that complicated either. "The west" with it's aversion to engaging in anything resembling "war" as of late, has been pretty passive against this enemy. Obama promised "no boots on the ground", Europeans would never dream of such a thing. The UK, well, we all know the sentiments there. .....
There is no appetite these days for Bomber Harris-style wholesale demolition of a country, but that is probably what it would take and the no-boots on the ground approach in Syria is an utter joke. What is going on there seems to be like sticking needles in a tiger - all we have done so far is make it angry, and this is going to go on for years unless somebody goes in and clears up the mess.
BTW I hope the President is still feeling good about his rush for the exit from Iraq in 2009.

Doesn't look like the Paris attacks have changed our PM's mind about withdrawing aircraft Canada currently has bombing ISIS.

American hasn't won a war since WWII, unless you perhaps count the pushing of Saddam out of Kuwait, but there the loser survived to fight again another day. Britain has the Falklands War to thank for having a post-WWII on its score card, but in any case I suspect that neither Britain nor America know how to win a war these days, meaning destroy the enemy so totally that they can't fight back.

In the unlikely event that he could achieve success, all blame can deflected at him, whilst establishing himself and his country as the consummate heroes.

We'll be paying for a war Europe should be taking the lead on.
We need to remove this fascist type of preaching from the Muslim world too. The type still sponsored by some of our "allies" in the region.

Who is "we" in your statement? U.S.? Also, I take issue with "fascist" as a characterization. What's fascist about Islamist extremist hate preaching?
