Does anyone know Kendall, Princeton or Lakes by the bay? These are further South.

Or further North around Sawgrass Mall?

How easy is it to buy some land somewhere in the Keys and stick a decent trailer on there to use as a vacation place?

Exceptionally difficult, unless you are very very rich.

Even just a little bit of land?

How rich is very very?

For the OP, frankly, Miami is a bi-cultural part of the state more so than the rest of Florida. It has a huge Cuban and Hispanic population. Most employment requires you to be bi-lingual. Have friends who live in Homestead and love it. They are Puerto Rican and speak both languages and had no problem assimilating.

My wife's and son's native tongues are Spanish but are both bi-lingual. My 6 year old son is doing so well at English now here. But switches all the time at home. Skypes in Spanish with this cousins in Uruguay 3/4 times a week.

Love the hispanic culture in Miami.

I suspect I have a different criteria for redneck than you to be fair.

Is that legal to make that specification? So an English-only speaking American is unemployable in Miami? In a country where the official language is English? Yes I know there is no such ruling on language but please tell me of any other language you are allowed to take the US citizenship exam in.

Yes, you do. Your dislike of the state and certain people who populate the US comes across loud and clear.

Have yet to see any Floridians driving trucks with car racks, cut off sleeves on their shirts or wearing wife beaters, etc.

BTW the term redneck came from the sunburnt necks of men who did outside manual labor. They were usually people who had limited education and were considered low income. The definition has evolved over the years.

The US does not have an official language. I'm assuming it is legal because I see the request for bi-lingual employment seekers only. It occurs up here in the NYC area as well as in Florida.

I was unemployable in Ottawa Canada in the legal field because I do not speak or read French.

The naturalization test must be in English. English requirement is only waived if the applicant is over a certain age.

Yes I know the US does not have an official language. I also know you can only take the US citizenship exam in English if a test is required. Doesn't that kind of make it seem like English is pretty much official? That's what I was saying. Canada is totally different because it does have two official languages, English and French.

It's not discrimination though, so perfectly allowed.

As a job criterion, I'd say it's no more discriminatory than any other qualification requirement, so don't see why it would be illegal.

Sounds like a great description of the vast majority of Florida residents there; especially the lack of education.

You may want to look at Palm Springs, not far from Miami and some nice neighborhoods.
