Local pastor delays deportation

This pastor managed to achieve some pretty amazing things through his persistence, and somehow managing to talk to the right people. I heard about this as it was all happening as I know many people who go to this church and often chat with the pastor when I see him around town. It may not necessarily change much in the long term, but still pretty impressive how he returned one man to his family when he was in detention and in the process of being deported, and the knock-on effect this has had for others in the same situation. |

Interesting bit this... "But many of the Indonesian wives, who did not have to register after 9/11, will soon have been here 10 years without drawing official attention, making them eligible to apply for green cards."

I wasn't sure about that bit; whether there was something in it, or if it was just poor research.

I'm guessing that they were alluding to Cancellation of Removal, which is very different from 'Applying for a green card'. So I agree, poor research.
