Default Kids passport

Finally getting around to applying for my child's passport.
She's 6, born in USA to British parents.
Looks like the process has changed since I last did this for my eldest which was through Washington.
Am I right in thinking that I can now just apply on line and send in the supporting docs all the way to the UK?
Thanks all so much

Hello - long time no see!

Just followed this process myself for my 5 year-old. Fairly straightforward, although sending original docs to UK as you say. It's been a couple of weeks now so hope I get it back soon as we're traveling in January.

Ooooh Tonrob that might be cutting it a bit fine Where'd you get your photos? Walgreens?
let me know when they get it back to you and if it was timely. I was surprised the process was so different to last time. Kind of nervous of sending all our documents all that way though :/

Did the photos myself. There was some free online passport photo re-sizing thingy that Bob suggested that worked a treat.

Didn't mind sending my UK passport off as I have an American one that I can enter the UK on if I don't get the UK one back in time.

FREE Passport Photos by ePassportPhoto.com

I used them myself for my passport and worked a treat. Printed the pic out at the local Target for pennies.
