If your going to try this, certainly best to do from Canada. If it goes wrong, not far to swim.

If the inquirer is planning to enter by a land port instead of an airport in order to get around the passport requirement he should remember to have his naturalization certificate with him as presumably his driver's license--even if it is one of the "enhanced" ones--was taken out before he became a citizen. It seems from the last link given that this certificate is also one of the acceptable other WHTI documents for use at airports.

I can see it being you need to fill a form out for some sort of waiver and then paying $xxx for the privilege.

I'm not so sure about that.

It all just seems to be a huge headache, risk & or worry. Guess I am just too old for, taking chances or bucking the system.

Pretty much how I feel Frank. Why on earth would you get citizenship - one of the prime reasons for which (for me anyway) was to get the hell away from POE officers asap - only to jump right back into the world of secondary processing?!

As long as I have been here, people friends, pals & passers by have been offering ways of, maneuvering, the rules the first one "don't bother to sit through the Safe Driving video, see Harry give him $20, he will give you the certificate you need to get your driving license".
My response, "I am a guest in this country, best play by the rules". People seem to spend a lot of energy, trying to circumvent.

Me too, but, as I mentioned earlier, most of us here are massively risk averse when it comes to legal matters around immigration etc. I suspect we're not representative of society at large.

It seems I was mistaken. Apparently the Natz. Cert. can't be used even at a land border.

Strangely enough, we haven't heard from the OP since the thread 're-started'.

Perhaps he's too busy spending quality time on the lavvy.....or maybe he's started off swimming back already.

Right, potential mis-read. I took that as "wed" (like it's written) but it could mean Weds (Wednesday).

And yes, all the Canadian airports (except maybe still Halifax?) are PFI/PreFlight Inspections. He goes through US Immigration IN Canada before boarding, but after checking in.

I don't think there is anything strange. The OP brought us up to date on his entry into Canada earlier today...what more do you want?

or swimming in the lavvy.

Will he return? we await the next episode, of "He talks with a limp & walks with a lisp" or, "Woe, I can't sit down anymore"

Perhaps you ought to read more into smileys in posts.
