I was in Washington DC over Christmas and got robbed in one of the candy stores there buying British Chocolate. I didn't bother to check the prices and ended up spending over $70 on stuff like Aero bars, maltesers etc.

It was very sad and I was more than a little ashamed over my reaction upon seeing so much British chocolate, I kind of glazed over and simply started to fill up a basket. I think on average the chocolate bars were around $4 each.

Wow! There under $2 at the local Meijer here. They're pretty inexpensive at World Market also.

Just paid $4.75 for choc Digestives 300g.

$2.99 for 150g Bourbons, think about 10 biscuits. an't check wife already ate them.

I don't have a problem with these prices, sure cost a ton of dosh & time shipping all the way from UK.

Nope - store's not open yet! Come back when it is and we'll take you up on it! Wonder if they'd let us wander around without buying anything just to see if the have stuff we'd want?

We are here in NYC, Upper West Side, for our annual city vacation. Purely by chance (!) we are close to Fair Way supermarket and Zabars.. Both famous gourmet destinations. Interesting to note that prices are lower here than for comparable items in our hometown, hardscrabble chain supermarket.. And the comparable items here in NYC are infinitely better quality.

I doubt we will see rain before June.

Wish I could say the same about the wind.

We've had record amounts of rain this past year. We had a flood watch last week in my county.

Gasoline, may head towards $5 again, I remember paying 89c a gal 10-12 years ago.

Agree wholeheartedly. $20 an hour may be a stretch, but $14 an hour would be a reasonable compromise. And personally, I don't mind if that leads to the price of a Big Mac to increase. Pay people a living wage!
