Homesickness "grass is greener" syndrome

Re: Homesickness "grass is greener" syndrome
Conroe like Bolton?! I don't think so..... then again I am the American.....
I could not live in a place with Golden Corral and Denny's as the main choices. I would be five feet wide or dead from not eating. I guess I would cook, assuming I didn't have to work and have a murderous commute into Houston. And I don't like the racism I have seen in deep East Texas. That combined with the bubba conservatives would drive me out of my mind.
I'm best off in liberal oases like Austin or say, Wimberley.

If so what's keeping you here? I know I've mentioned it before, but I just don't get it. I know for sure if I wasn't happy here I would not stay.

anyway, dad usually stayed in the car happily smoking his ciggies and reading the morning paper. mum would then come back with one load of shopping and 3 pies and that would keep dad happy for another couple of hrs
