Re: Holiday to California
So started with 3 nights in San Fan, Picked up hire care and drive down through Santa Cruz down the Pacific highway, stayed in Monterey, then through Carmel (would have loved more time there) stayed in Santa Barbara, onto Santa Monica for 2 nights then 2 nights in LA(would have liked longer there), then onto Vegas, 3 nights in vegas, then onto Yosemite- got very lost- took us 15 hours, had one full day in Yosemite, onto Napa Valley for 2 nights and then back to San Fran for 2 nights. Loved it all!

Re: Holiday to California
Lovely photos, thanks.
I've only ever been to LA twice. Once in May, once in Feb. 3 days only each time. Loved it. Weather was amazing and never got "stuck" in traffic. Is the smog only seasonal (summer)? Would love to go back spend more time. And yes, the Getty Center is worth it just for itself.
I also spent 4 days in SD, it was in April. Everything was very nice, beautiful. But it seemed sort of "generic" as opposed to LA which feels more authentic. The only part of SD that impressed me (sort of) was the old town where there is the mexican market, north-ish if I recall correct.
Oh, and I haven't been to Hollywood (not interested at all) and spent no more than 2 minutes on Rodeo Drive, so it really isn't the celebrity thing that I liked about it - though there are 2 men in particular I wouldn't mind running into.
I haven't done the PCH yet. Hopefully one day soon.
Edit: Oh, and the sushi. Every single place I had sushi in LA was AMAZING. And I've had the same thing confirmed by a huge foodie friend of mine. Another plus for LA even though this is very particular and personal.
