Default Google Flights

https://www.google.com/flights/

So they recently changed things up with the way it works and supposed to be much better at getting better prices. It's supposed to indicate when prices are likely to go up or down around the times that you're looking to fly.

I'm not going anywhere to bother actually trying it, but thought some might be interested.

Certainly be interested to see how it compares to other sites like Kayak.

I stopped using Kayak ages ago, and use Google Flights almost exclusively when I'm daft enough to pay to fly.

My next back I paid for with flyer miles after I booked a friend decided to come with me GRR-DTW-AMS-NCL $1400, searching around I checked out Google flights and it suggested flying out of Chicago (2.5 hour drive from GR) into Teesside (which is actually closer) so she is flying ORD-DTW-AMS-MME for $655!

That's not bad going for a few hours driving. Don't suppose there's a coach ride? Or is parking at the airport in Chicago not to bad?

Unlike some other websites, I like how to gives me prices in my currency vs US currency.

Seems to automatically give you the currency of the country your in, at least for Canada.

She actually has a someone giving her a ride to and from the airport. The crazy thing is if you take the exact same flight minus the Chicago to Detroit part it jumps back up to
$1400

I use hopper to monitor flights when i know i need to book to go back to the UK.

I had set a price lookup on flights from Dallas > London in mid November, prices were $1,300 return.

I had a notification about 2 weeks back about a suitable flight it found for a much cheaper rate.

Direct flight from Dallas to London
Returning to Dallas via a hop in Frankfurt.

$505 all in for the sake of an extra 2 hours in Frankfurt.

i literally couldn't find my wallet soon enough to book it. All flying with American.

Definitely recommend Hopper

Google Flights is great but note it does not include every airline, even major ones. I've used it to alter my dates by quite a bit (more than the +3/-3 many sites offer) and save loads.
