General Info Moving to the US - 1st time here?

Hi,
I'm married to a US citizen (5 months now) and we are currently living in the UK (it was esay to get a VISA for my wife).
Could anyone tell me or point me to a good website for information on what we would need to do if we wanted to move to the states?
Would I be able to move without a job offer (search for work once we were there)?
any help would be gratefully received.
