hi,
I work in the world of digital marketing in England and I have the possibility to come and live in the USA because of my future wife (us citizen). Sorry for my English, it is not perfect, I was born in England, but I lived abroad too, more time abroad than in england. It is my first thread, I'm wondering if salaries are higher in the usa compared to english salaries considering only digital marketing jobs. Is there anybody who works in the world of digital marketing who can answer my question? I had a look at indeed tw hours ago and it seems that salaries are similar, but a blog about digital marketing published an article where it seems that in the usa salaries are much higher. I think my future will be in the usa but I don't know much about this country. And considering the living cost, (I live in London), how is the situation? I like big cities

Not being an expert in "digital marketing" I am not sure how the salaries might compare but if it is a skill that would be useful at Google and Amazon all the way down to lowly start-ups and small specialist web sites, I would imagine that remuneration is going to be equal variable, from generous executive level compensation down to a pittance.

Whether the money is worth it is going to be critically dependent on whether you need to be in New York or San Francisco, or whether you can live in a much cheaper area. I took a paycut to leave NY, but went from barely being able to afford a house in the far outer suburbs of NYC and having one car, to owning a modern four bed detached house on a 1.5 acre lot, and having two additional vehicles.

In Boston, digital marketing guys I know are on $80-110k. Wages here are outrageously high. I can only imagine the obscene amount you'd be paid in NYC or SFO.

I work in an area of my company that includes digital marketing. We have roles at many levels, from junior to VP so as you'd imagine salaries will vary hugely. In general my company pays higher salaries in the US than London, but after taking into account medical contributions and 401k, like for like vs. cost of living it probably comes out roughly the same, maybe slightly higher in the US.
