Wow. We are paying $106/mo, for full coverage on a '98 Nissan Altima, an '08 Civic (both with $500 deductible) as well as a $1mil umbrella coverage policy. We are getting ours through the KY Farm Bureau. This is not the same as State Farm or Farmers insurance companies. We switched from Allstate & we saved about $30/mo + got the umbrella coverage and a lower deductible. Generally speaking you typically get a deduction after a year, but it could be specific to your company. If they won't give you a discount, move to another company.

Companies rely on inertia and they slowly up their premiums. In 4.5 years I've renewed with the same company only once. The coverage is in the small print not in loyalty to the company. Recommend you shop around.

Has anyone grasped the concept yet that the amount you pay includes the state you live in, the amount of auto theft in the area you live in, the type of car you drive, the amount of mileage placed on the auto annually, etc?

All of the above will determine what you pay in premiums.

Oh yes.... We were told that when they upped our bill the last time. "Well just because you don't have "issues" doesn't mean you don't have to foot the bill for others having "issues".....

If you live inside or outside the city limits seems to be a big factor.
