Becoming A Realtor

I went through the school system in England 40 years ago. I have no proof of my exam results................

I am doing a real estate licence in washington State and have found that I need to have a high school diploma or equivalant. It doesnt specify a GED.

Is there anyone out there that has come up against ot and how did you overcome it. My preference would be to not have to do a GED as well as real estate school.............

ANy ideas or advice would be lovely, thanks:thumbsup:

Without any proof of anything I'm not sure you could unless they waived the requirement.

My next steps would be:
- ask the realtor people if they can waive it. Explain situation as a foreign person.
- get in touch with old UK high school to see if they still have anything
- get a GED

You really need to ask the real estate licensing people what they will accept as proof.

or get https://www.wes.org/ ( or something similar) to evaluate what you have in terms of exam passes.

Will going to a private real estate school get around this issue?

Get a GED, would be the quickest, easiest and cheapest solution. It is the equivalent to the high school diploma.

:goodpost:

Just do the GED I have one, its the easiest and quickest way. Most community colleges or possible adult education centers will let you challenge the exam directly and the fees as very minimal.

Google is your friend here is my simple search for Washington state GED:

I'm surprised there are any requirements for being a realtor beyond using a calculator.

I'm doing mine here in Canada.
All I had to do was an admissions test. It was much easier than getting my qualifications canadianised!
Check if maybe there's an admissions test where you are...

I applied to Nursing School back in the late 80s early 90s and they sent for my transcripts from the Grammar School I attended, which I left when I was 15.5. The admissions department basically laughed at me, but they gave me the sound advice to go get my GED. Twenty odd years later, with two degrees under my belt, it was the best advice I ever got. I say get it done and out of the way just in case your career interests change, and you find you need it. By the way, I'm in WA, too :-)
