If they instead said, "Only terrorists need to register", I wonder how many people would show up. Yes, the registration process is catching many who violated their status in the U.S. or committed crimes or other bad acts, but I think (and of course, I could be wrong and I'm not an authority on the policy decisions that lead them to institute registration) registration is to simply keep tighter control (have better information about) on who is here and where they are (not so much to round up terrorists).

And if a non-terrorist does not show up for registration (perhaps he simply overstayed his visa), failing to comply with registration is an independent, additional violation that will lead to removal from the U.S.

"That" is the dilemma. Show up and go through the hassle (little hassle to substantial hassle) vs. exposing yourself (or chalking up) a reason to be removed from the U.S.

Again, I'm no authority on registration, and I'm just throwing some thoughts out there that may or may not be entirely accurate.

You are his fiance & a US Citizen...so who is is going to get him in?
Just a bit confused by your post....why don't you apply for a K-1?

Hi All!

Of course they aren't going to say that. I could care less if they said
come on down for a free steak dinner and sex. LOL If it nabs people that
shouldn't be here, I'm all for it. I think they should go back to requiring
all aliens to send in a cards each year and inform the INS when they change
address, at least if it's an out of state move.

I think the cops should get involved with rounding up illegal aliens too. I
remember when the snipers were still loose here in Maryland and the cops
said they wouldn't do anything to any illegal aliens that came in to provide
information. Why isn't breaking an immigration law just as important as
speeding or smoking a cigarette in the mall.

Take care,

Mike

Hi All!

Probably none, but McVeigh is dead and Walker in prison for the rest of his
life, so they are going to bother anyone again. I don't want anyone here
that isn't supposed to be here, for whatever reason. Why have a book of INS
laws, if you are aren't going to enforce them.

I have no problem with keeping all people out from countries that are
suspected of terrorism. Make it just like elementary school, no play time
for everyone until the one that did it confesses. Maybe if you make
everyone in those countries pay a price they will get rid of the trouble
makers and if not at least they won't be here.

Take care,

Mike

Chances are that you will die at the hand of another USC who is out on parole and carrying a gun illegally.
YOu can round up all the immigrants you want to. That will not stop the crime that is present in that country. It would not make you walk around any safer.
Americans were unsafe in their own country before 911. Not because of illegal immigrants but because of other Americans.
This problem is not present in any other developed world. I wonder why.

Remember that.

Keely,

I have applied for the K-1, that was my point. We had to wait until we had all the documents that the US required. We had to follow the rules and do it legally. The instructions are not hard to follow.
