Hi,

I'm British and have been living in the US. I am married to an American and are moving back to the UK for a while. My question is , we have filled in the online application for settlement in the UK for my wife and that's all fine but one of supporting documents that are required in the mail in application are:

Immigration States eg Permanent residence card, Valid I-94 H1-B - L-1 - B-1 I-20(signed on the reverse) IAP-66 Employment authorization card with advance parole document.

My wife will be doing an office transfer from the US to UK office so what piece of information, if any do we need to get hold off and submit?

Are you sure that you have filled in the right form? The documents mentioned are US immigration documents and I'm not sure why the UK visa office would be asking for them. Are you saying that the UK Visa site is asking for these documents?

As your wife is a US citizen, she wouldn't have any of those documents anyway, I supposed a notarised copy of her passport or birth cert.

Not the way that I expected it to be, but I have to admit I haven't filled a settlement visa form yet, that's a few years away.

One of these would be required if your wife was not a USC but residing in the US as a permanent resident or on a temporary basis, i.e. on a visa.

The passport would need to be submitted anyway so that the visa can be put into it.
