Work experience in Florida (from UK)
Hi,
Me and my partner are looking to gain some work experience in Florida (around the Miami area, but other areas considered) and wondered how we go about this? We would be coming over from the UK and we are looking to go for about 6 weeks but are very flexible on times of year etc.
My partner is a farrier and wants to work with some qualified farriers who are set up in the Miami area and I'd like to look into being a showjumping groom (perhaps for the winter circuit). Would love to see some sights and do a bit of travelling round Florida as well!
We aren't in it for money, just want the experience. We would probably look to rent a house and a car for the duration.
I understand we may need a work visa for this, but not completely sure. Happy to answer any questions!

For any kind of work visa, you will need a US employer to sponsor you.
For such a short stay, sounds like maybe an H-2 seasonal work visa.

You asked almost exactly the same questions over a year ago in this thread... the answers haven't changed.

Now I remember why I didn't come back after the first time I posted on here. Because most of the people on here are horrid. Such a shame as you lot must be putting off a lot of people who could enjoy this website.

I don't see anyone being unpleasant. I'm not sure what more we can tell you: in order to live and work in the US for any length of time, even just for 6 months, you need to qualify for a visa. For a work visa, you also need an employer who will sponsor you.
So... how do you go about this? By finding an employer who will sponsor you for a visa for which you qualify

Just because people are telling you what you don't want to hear doesn't make them horrid
