Post waiting for 'waiver of ineligibility' visa

Hi everyone,

I know these take about 6 months, just wondering if anyones had to wait for one of these before after being given a waiver of ineligibility at a holiday visa interview at the embassy.

Has anyone ever heard back sooner than 6 months? And also do they tend to contact you by email or post?

Thanks
