An 18 year old marrying a 73 year old may raise a few eyebrows

That's about all it *WILL* raise, no matter who is the older of the spouses...

I have heard of one couple who got some grief over their age difference during their visa application process, but I heard from many others that they were worried about it, but it did not end up to be any problem.

Age *should* not be a factor as long as the two people are of legal age to marry, but in any case, be diligent in gathering and providing evidence of a bona fide relationship.

Good luck!

I am the USC wife, and I am 14 years older than my alien husband. We did the fiance visa. There was a big note in red letters on the front page of our file, that noted the age difference, but no one ever asked about it during the K-1 interview or the AOS interview. It wasn't a problem.

Hi:

I wouldn't assume that. A retired Consular Officer I knew stated that when he was in Manila they had NO problem with a much older man and would send the Filipina on with best wishes that husband would survive their reunion night together or at least die happy. And this is a pretty close paraphrasing.

USCIS views it in the same way that a fish views an aardvark. Hope this helps.

Tito,

Depends on more than just the difference in age - a 60 year old man petitioning for a woman 25 years his junior will have far fewer problems than a 30 year old man petitioning for a woman 15 years his junior.

Regards, JEff
