Thumbs up Update: N-400 Application to TSC

It's been a little over five months since I heard anything about my N-400 application that I sent to Texas Service Center (TSC) back in April 2005.

In today's mail was another NOA. This time, this document asks me to come for my Naturalization interview in Charlotte, NC, my nearest USIC office on February 16th which happens to be the day after my birthday!

I have an early morning interview so I will be spending the night before in Charlotte.

Here's my updated timeline-

4/26/05: N-400 application mailed to TSC
4/28/05: N-400 received by TSC
5/12?/05: NOA rec from TSC
6/4/05: rec NOA for fingerprinting. Appt scheduled for 7/5/05
7/5/05: biometrics and fingerprints taken at ASC in Charlotte
1/3/06: NOA for Naturalization interview received
2/16/06: date of Nationalization interview

Why a bummer. Make a holiday out of it and treat yourself to something special in case your hubby can't come with you. Try a day at a spa for a facial, massage, pedicure and manicure. Or perhaps a tour of a museum if you are into that type of thing. Or a concert or a play. A fancy dinner for one is always nice on a birthday. And I mean that really. I enjoy eating alone and making others wonder what is my story ;-) Dress to the nines and let them at it.

My spouse is definitely coming with me. However, I'm not a fan of Charlotte having visited for leisure reasons as well as immigration reasons.
