Default Traveling whilst Greencard is processing...hopefully!

Hi all!

We are about to submit our application for a Greencard in the EB1a category. My husband's company are doing it for us and it has been a fraught process to get to this stage so I don't want to unsettle anything by asking them questions....so I'm asking you instead!

They expect to submit the application next week and are paying for premium processing. I've got a trip booked back to the UK on March 8th. If the application is successful or we are issued an RFE, will I be able to go? I can see from googling that I'll possibly need Advance Parole. Does anyone know how long it takes for that to come through?

It's my best friend's wedding so I'm really hoping it all works out.

FYI, husband is on h1b, I'm on h4. He won't be coming with me to the UK.

Yes. You're not a prisoner in the US. You can leave the US at any time.

I believe that as long as your H-4 is valid, you can travel on that.

A/P usually takes 60-90 days to get after applying.
