Hi Group

I am currently in UK. I intend to go to US shortly on B1 Visa.

Here are my questions
a. Can my company apply for my L1 while I am in US
b. I understand that for 'petition' it takes around 2 months.. am i
right
c. Whether I will have to come back to UK for stamping L1 Visa in my
passport or Can I change my visa status from B1 to L1 in US itself
d. What are the procedures for applying L2

a. yes
b. could be 2 months, could be more. Depends on each individual case. With premium processing (which makes sense in your case) it's a guaranteed decision in 15 days
c. Both is possible
d. your family has to go to the Us consulate in their country and apply there for L2

Your message raises suspicions; you know it is illegal to work while in
B-1 status, I assume?

Yes.

Don't know, sounds about the right order of time.

If you want a visa you'll have to go to a US Consulate outside the USA,
the one in your "country of normal residence" preferably. You can
change status from B-1 to L-1 in the USA.

Your dependents apply at a US Consulate for an L-2 visa, providing
proof of your being an L-1.

Yes. It is illegal to 'work' on B1 which I am NOT doing :)

I am just going to facilitate my company attend some events and
tradeshows which is permissible as per B1...
