Q:AOS and 1040a dependents HELP!

My fiance and her 2 sons came to America on the K1(K2).We married.I have not filed the
AOS,because I have not had the $220 each($660),waiting for my W2 so that with our IRS
refund we could do this.I got her a Social Security #,but the SSA interviewer told us the
boys are not eligible for a number as K2's.Since the IRS 1040a needs a SS# for dependent
children,what can I do in order to claim the boys as dependents on my Income Tax return?

John,

Get the boys ITINs (Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers). See the IRS web site for
the application form and instructions.
