Default PED expiry before L1A and I-129S

Long story short.

I was granted my L1A visa under my companies initial 3 year blanket petition.

This has since been replaced and is indefinite.

Every time I get to POE they look at my VISA and see the original PED and say its not valid even though I show them evidence that the blanket petition has been renewed.

I try to explain but for obvious reasons don't push the point and last two times I've had to go to secondary which after a 7 hour flight isn't nice.

So to avoid this hassle going forward I was going to request a new visa stamp, in line with my approved I-129S. However no sure how straight forward that is, i.e. will I need to go through the whole application process again with a new DS-160.

This happened to anyone else before?

Thanks
