Parent of American Child - Potential Move
Myself and friends were having a debate last night.
One of my friends met a girl on holiday who he may or may not have got pregnant (she is confirming this week).
He does not want to marry the mother but wants to see the kid grow up and move to the US.
I said he couldn't get a visa / green card for being the parent until the child is 21. Am I correct as he seemed to think otherwise.

I can understand that. I wouldn't want to marry a woman who sleeps with someone she meets casually on holiday!

There is DAPA but he will have missed the cut off.

If I was in his shoes I'd be definitely requiring a DNA test.

Also, another change even more recent, unless the child is born "in wedlock," dad will have to show parental relation and interest. [The dividing point used to be "legitimate" or "legitimated." That is no longer true].

That was kinda my point. They deserve each other, but the "relationship" such as it was, was built on a very poor foundation, springs, padding, hormones, and alcohol presumably.

Something like that! In Amsterdam. We lost him for a day or so and he appeared with her!

What happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam.
Sometimes.
