I had to wait over two years to get the permanent GC. Well, actually I just got the
stamp in my passport. The GC arrives in a few months.
Is it just good for ten years? What do I do in ten years?
What else do I need to be aware so that I don't find myself the victim of deportation
at some point in the far off future?

Don't we need to reapply for a new GC after ten years? That is if we don't
become citizens?

Yes, you reapply for a new card after 10 years. But that is just getting a new
*card*. You are still a resident. You need the card for work authorization, travel
outside the country, etc, but you do not lose your *status* as PR. Not having an up
to date Green Card will not cause you to face deportation. Mike
