Waiver decision timescales from DHS seem to be fairly consistent across the board, once the consulate has made a recommendation, so it may not be the case that yours takes any longer than anyone elses.

In the common definition of the word, you were deported. Per the U.S. law definitions/nomenclature you were not. Deportation is called removal these days and a Visa Waiver Program refusal does not count as a removal. How was the night in the slammer? Was it immigration detention or county jail? Your own cell or a dormitory setting loaded with gang bangers? Squat and cough?

That's what I'm also hoping but I (after reading this thread) am 100% aware it will take as long as it takes.

Because the interview process took so log there were no more flights out that day so after 12 hours in a room with fellow immigration detainees, was just like any normal waiting room to be fair, I was loaded into a police transport van and taken to county jail. I got to share the cell with one toilet , on view to all, and about 15 other "ladies" some also waiting for the same fate as me , others looked more "local". Was the worst experience of my life. A sleepless night later they transferred me back to LAX where I was taken straight to the departure gate escorted by a (armed, but I think they all are) police officer. He then escorted me onto the plane, luckily they let me on first, where he handed me over to the airline staff.
I don't have a trip booked as such but Hubby has won a trip to L.A in Feb so I am hoping to join him.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Is anyone able to give an general idea of the likelihood of being granted/refused a visa once recommended for a waiver by the US embassy in London?
I understand there are no guarantees but just wondered what the general success rate was when you get to this stage?
On week 24 now since interview.

It is just so frustrating having no real way to check on the status given that I am now in week 24 and have exceeded the 20/22 week anticipated waiting time..... but that is the nature of the beast I know.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
At the time of your application, you were found to be ineligible for a visa under Section 212(a)(2)(A)(i)(I) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). In order to be issued a visa, you require a waiver of this ineligibility. The consular officer who interviewed you determined that you would be recommended for a waiver and the waiver application is being processed. Applicants are advised to allow approximately 6 months from the date of the visa interview for their application to be processed. Times quoted should be used only as a guide. We do advise that applicants should not make final travel plans until their visa application has been fully processed and their passport and visa returned to them. Please be assured that you will be contacted as soon as the review of your application is completed.

Nice to get a response of any kind although it's a shame it only really tells you what you already know.
What week are you on now?
