You should also report it to the police.

The following website also informs as to how to get new visas:

Contact the embassy of your country as they can help you get new passports

Well l have got v lucky. I got a messenger message from the bank manager to say l had left my passports in their branch. I am not their customer so it was their only way of getting hold of me.
She left her mobile and l called and she reassured me that it was all locked up and l can collect it in the morning!!
Best customer service ever (and not even a customer!!)
Thanks all.

So glad for you to hear that they have turned up. I hate it when I have to take our passports out of the house for things, I'm much happier once I know they are back in their safe place.

In Amsterdam with DS last week, he was using his GC as ID. I thought about this and I asked him to use his passport as it is quicker and cheaper to replace if he loses it. I've requested that the GC stays safe and sound in his room.

His GC was accepted as ID in Holland?

When we moved to the US in 1996 I produced my UK passport as ID. The manager was called...I said it was a UK PP. He said it was acceptable as it was ID from Oklahoma.
