London Passport return for issue timescale

After you have received the e mail from London to send your passport for a visa to be issued,how long do you have to do this.I ask because in one place it says 30 days and another says 4 months?
(For clarification B2 visa following waiver of ineligibility being granted)

Most people respond right away - because they want the visa. At any rate, I believe both are incorrect. At every stage of a visa process, you usually have 1 year to respond, after which your case file is summarily closed.
