L1b Denied
Hi,
The visa petition was denied yesterday, with a request for loads of further information. We can't see how we can add any further detail to prove specialised skills and a few other issues, and to be frank can't be put through waiting any longer. So we have told the company that we are no longer interested in pursuing.
I think if the company decided that they would be willing to fully commit to trying to obtain green cards for us, we might just think it was worth the further effort and wait. But because "They would only discuss the possibility in 12 months" we can't take the upheaval for our son in 3-5 years at the age of 12-15 to have to come back to the UK.
We have still decided to move away from Berkshire and be closer to family in the Norfolk area, as we gave notice on our rental and I left my job yesterday.
I would like to thank everyone on here who has answered questions and offered their advice, I really did appreciate it.
Take care
Claire

Sorry it didn't pan out for you. Honestly, I thought you were already in the US from some of your posts.
Good luck with the move to Norfolk.

It seems you've tried to move to several countries (Malta, Australia, back to Canada and now the USA). If you are so unhappy in the U.K. that's a shame as it is a great place all in all. I hope you find happiness somewhere else soon.

I know I’m am very fortunate to live in the U.K., and since looking into living in the US I know this even more now. I think the universe is telling us that U.K. should be home and that I should plant some permanent roots here.
Gone is the dream of warmer climate living, and now we will just have to make the best out of temperate weather now. There is always holidays abroad ☺️
