L1 to GC
I am on L1 right now. How long would it take to get a GC once the company I work for kicks it off ? I'm hearing conflicting numbers. I am a British Citizen and been on L1 since mid-2016. Thanks

Re: L1 to GC
My company's attorney is currently drafting my EB-1C application and AOS (I'm on L-1A). I'll keep you posted!
The attorney did say though from the outset, "expect 6-12 months, if all goes well".

thanks Ian and hmvsdog!
My company is saying it will take 2-3 years! Apparently they need to file a labor cert in the first year. Then, 3-5 months after filing that Step 2. I'm definitely L1-A because thats what it says on my I-129S. Not sure if the "specialist" is getting it wrong (he's not a lawyer but says he's done this MANY times for other employees)

Labor certification is not required for EB-1C. Is this the classification you'd be sponsored under for permanent residency?

I seem to qualify for EB-1C so not sure why I'd be put forward as anythign else.
Anyway, until the lawyers comment I'll have to assume my contact at work isnt that accurate with his information.

Re: L1 to GC
The timescale also also depends on what state you work in as this changes which service center processes your case.
Right now Texas is processing EB-1C cases a lot faster than Nebraska.

I believe my company's attorneys are east coast (Boston) so itll be wherever that is close to. I reside on the west coast.
