Hi, Wanted to know how much time does a person have after resigning from a company until

Not a lot!! 10 days to find a new job. You may however switch to a tourist visa to have 3
months instead, but I don't really know how that works.

10 days (assuming you are talking about H-1B). If you need more time, don't panic. Your
new employer can still file a transfer late and ask INS to excuse the delay.
