grace period (60 days) F1 visa
Hello,
My 60 day grace period for the F1 visa expires on Aug. 10, and my H1B
commences on Aug. 21. Any suggestions for what I can do for those 11
days in between -- leaving the country will be impossible.
Thanks for your assistance. In a desperate situation right now.

RK,
Do you have a new I-94 on the approval form (I-797)? If so, I believe
you do not have to leave.
If your approval notice doesn't have an I-94, you have to go out of the
country to get a visa stamp. If you go to your home country or perhaps
to Mexico or Canada, you can enter the US 10 days before the starting
of your H1.

I don't think there's much you can do. There isn't enough time to change your status to Tourist for those 11 days.

> Thanks for the response, Bob. Yes, I do have a new I-94 on my approval form (I-797). Will there be any legal hassles for the ten-day gap between the expiration of the grace period and the commencement of the H1? I hope there are no problems when I actually leave the US in the future to get the H-1 visa stamp.
Thanks!
