Hi,

We have booked our appointment for a H1B non immigrant interview in London. My job contract was due to start at the beginning of October so I was hoping to expedite the appointment but this does not seem like a valid reason according to their guidelines.

I have two questions in relation to this:
- Is it worth asking to expedite anyway, in case there are cancellation slots I can take? Or will this be viewed negatively?
- Do appointment cancellations appear on the website, and is there a best time of day to check?

Until the appointment, we cannot really make travel plans plus our uk rented accommodation is also coming to an end very soon.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Check every morning for appointments, they do jump around a bit.

It isn't a reason for expediting, so no point asking.

Indeed, you shouldn't make travel plans until you have your visa. Is your H1B subject to the cap/quota, though? If so, your timings are more complicated than just your appointment date...

It seems like the petition is already approved and now he just needs the visa. There's no complication.

Just updating for others interested. I checked a few times a day and got a short notice appointment. Just keep checking regularly!
