Default EAD for H4 spouse

Hi,

My spouse, currently on H4, is applying for AOS and EAD at the LA office. It has
now been 2 1/2 months since the EAD application was received by the INS and
entered into the system. (My AP, applied for at the same time, was approved in
less that 2 months.)

(1) Does anyone have any idea how much longer we have to wait for the EAD?

(2) I heard that after 60 days one can go to a local INS office and get the EAD on
the spot, in some cases. I think this may apply only to renewals and not to the
initial application. Does anyone know the details?

(3) Is there anything one can do apart from waiting and waiting and waiting...?

Any information will be greatly appreciated,

P.

Probably soon.

Actually, it's 90 days, and applies to all EADs. However, many offices don't honor
this policy. It won't hurt to go to the LA office and try.

Look up the processing time (try the Shusterman site, in my link list below). If
it has taken more than 30 days over the stated time, call the office, or go there
in person.

Thus it it possible to get an EAD when you have a H4 VISA ???
What is an AOS?

As for now, with my wife we are working under VISA L1 and L2(+EAD), but we will have to swhitch to H1B and H4. Unfortunatly, I read nearly every where that H4 can't apply for EAD....

It would be extremly helpfull if you could help us with that.

Many thanks.

You canät get EAD as H4, thats right.
But the OP is in process of getting the Green card (AOS), and under AOS you can apply for EAD.
