Whether it's a $350.00 letter or a $0.01 letter... it'll make no difference because the lawyer won't be the one making the decision whether or not to let you enter the US. That decision rests solely with the CBP officer... and he isn't going to give a fuzzy rat's ass what the lawyer thinks.
Complete waste of time... and "good" is highly subjective.

Before I moved over here on an L1a visa and got my Green Card I came frequently on VW, a mix of business and pleasure. The main question I would get is how long my stay is, who I work for, what I would be doing while in the US.
And even if you get lucky, and they don't ask you a lot of questions and turn you away this trip, that's not the end of it. The next time you come back, the officer will scan you passport and see that you were here for a 10 weeks business trip, and may ask you about that.

Between the cursory "Business or pleasure" and being summarily put back on a plane with negligible questioning, there are almost an infinite shades of grey.

No, they don't need to ask you that, you have already indicated it on your customs form.
