I have been informed by my employer that my husband and I are required to have biometrics performed I'm waiting for the letter from USCiS. I'm not sure why we need biometrics as both my daughters have their actual GC's I'm waiting on an official letter, has anyone else had to have biometrics performed after they have entered the USA?

How would your employer even know? I suggest you find out who, exactly, has made the request - and for what purpose. I also suggest you review your rights under employment law.


No. It's not the employer's business - so long as you are legally eligible to work.

Only when we were getting GCs.
If children get GC before 14th birthday then they will need to have biometrics done within 1 month of this birthday - as I found out 6 months too late.

My husband had received an appointment to attend USCIS field offic in Fort Worth for biometrics I should receive mine in the post imminently, onc this has been processed we will receive our GC's. I'm just unsure why this wasn't done when we arrived at Dallas Fort Worth.

Doesn't sound unusual to me. USCIS does take its own sweet time.
