Default B2/D160 Interview - Passport Retention?

Hi

We are heading from Glasgow to London for our B2 Tourism/D160 interview in mid-June 2016, and I understand that part of the process involves the Embassy retaining our passports - please, does any have an idea for how long they hang on to them? (as flights elsewhere are dependent on our having the passports back).

Thanks, KONSRQ

If the visas are approved, anywhere from 3-10 days. If the visas aren't approved, you'll get them back immediately.

It's quite simple, really... don't book any flights until you have your passports in hand.

Cheers Ian, good info!
As for the advice...it's easy for you to say, you haven't met my impatient, "where are we going next" other half!
