Default B1/2 processing time

Hi
Does anyone know how long does it usually take to process a B1/2 application?
Thanks

Is that the one for researching a book or visiting the boyfriend?

It depends on which Embassy and how busy they are, usually several weeks at least.

You can find B1/B2 visa processing information and estimates at the State Department's website, located at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wa...itors_wait.php

Highly variable. First of all, it depends on the consulate. Second, it
depends on the individual case. Especially if you are from a predominantly
Muslim country, expect substantial delays. If you are from a poor country
or a visa waiver country, expect a denial - some B-1/B-2 are approved, but
you will need some special reason and/or plenty of evidence that you will
return.
