Hi, thanks for your really informative post. Could you tell me more about your job as a home loan consultant at a bank? How did you get the job? I am trying to research jobs in Brisbane most like what I do here in the UK, but I'm not surely it really exists in Oz? I work for a loan company that do secured loans (2nd mortgages) for homeowners - it is one of those infamous "debt consolidation" companies that advertise on TV!! That kind of company doesn't seem to exist in Oz - does any one know of any comparable jobs in Oz that might accept my underwriting experience? Thanks x

Great reading, thanks I hope the next year is as kind to you as the first has been, it all seems to have worked out so well for you.

I just applied for the job when i saw it advertised on seek.com.au. I didnt think I would get it as i hadn't done it previously but they were willing to train me. I'm sure there are companys like yours as most banks don't do 2nd mortgages. Wizard seems to advertise on the TV a lot. I'm not sure what they do but they seem to offer a lot of finance to people who might have been refused at the bank. Good luck!

Lovely post, thank you. You sound like you're both enjoying your new lives quite a bit

The information about the bank work was really interesting, I'd often thought about that type of work but always thought I'd need a background in finance.

Wishing you many more happy years

Jo, thanks for the advice. I will look at the "Seek"website and I will look in to "Wizard." You have been most helpful.

LOL I got changed and put a pair of jeans and a jumper on. It was a bit of a cold one. I had to find jumpers for some of our guests too.

I loved reading your post Jo. It sounds like you have got a great life here, good on you.
