Re: 4 years today!
Today's the day..........getting nervous now. OH tested me last night, and he found some really tough questions, so my confidence was dented a bit.
Will revise on the AEC and read each question carefully so I don't get Government and Parliament mixed up.

Thanks for the good wishes- it was a bit of a palaver with delays, computer problems and rude people pushing in front of me, but I passed the test and am now awaiting the letter of approval!!

Re: 4 years today!
OH has phoned DIAC and he and DD are tentatively booked in for the 25th July. No mention of me. Should get the letters about 2 weeks beforehand. Hope I am also on that list, as we had stated we all wanted to be together!
It would be a nice slightly belated birthday present.

Re: 4 years today!
I've got a week to go before I have to cheer for Australia, though I already do, as long as they are not playing England/British Lions/Wales.
I know the words to the anthem (first verse only) and I hope to be able to vote, as I'm about to lose voting rights in the UK after 5 years away.
Now, what to wear to the ceremony???
(Green and gold don't suit me - unless they are emeralds and 24 carat bling.)

There was a legal challenge to this limit in the European Court of Human Rights, but in its ruling earlier this year the ECHR stated that the UK was entitled to impose a limit and that it was not a breach of human rights to do so.

You can vote in UK general elections for 15 years after you leave the UK.
