Default 2 1/2 years in: Adelaide to Brisbane

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time since I posted here, mainly because it has been a helluva busy ride.

Landed in Adelaide in April 2009, on a 475 state sponsored visa, wife and both kids joined a month later. Got a job, did quite well, saw a lot of Australia by road (most of it boring kms, punctuated by the most awe-inspiring beauty and weird animals), applied for a job in North Brisbane, got it, moved over in July 2011 and now on the Peninsula.

We have some great friends, a lot of continued contacts in the UK, a better life than Glasgow, have had some fantastic experiences along the way (Bungle Bungles, Tour Down Under) and hopefully passports in July 2013.

Probably two learns: making friends takes time and PMAR: positive mental attitude regardless!!

Been back to UK once, nothing had changed. You can't surf in Glasgow, nor ride a bike or a longboard.

It's not cheap in Australia, but the beach is free and we love the space.

Regards,

David
