Just thought i would put an update on here regarding our time in oz on my 457 visa. We moved to cairns in march 2014. And i can honestly say we love Australia. Took me about 1 year 5 months to get my Australian Fire protection licences. But was well worth it. We are now in a process of starting our skilled migration visa. We definitely wont be moving back to uk, only to visit family, my wife and daughter have both found jobs but this did take time. My son came for holiday last christmas and came back on a working visa. So life is good.
Got myself a boat and moved into a big house with a pool in cairns and loving life. The Aussies are really friendly made a few good friends. If anyone is thinking of moving to Australia, dont hesitate go for it!!! If its not for you you can always go back.

i am looking to come over with partner and 2 children were best to live?

and how hard is it to get a job?

also do u have rough bills list

like house costs
car costs etc

any help plz?

Hi michelle, wow this is a late reply. We live in cairns paying 420 a week rent for 4 bed place. if you check out realestate.com.au you will get idea of prices of property. Cars are not cheap here compared to uk. Check out carsales.com.au.
Our shopping bill is roughly same as uk really.

Good for you.. really pleased it has worked out in Cairns for you... reading so many of these post, there is so much negativity.. nice to hear a happy ending story.. we have friends in Cairns and so will be up that way one day soon. All the best.
