Introduction to the role:

Our client provides the delivery of motorway service areas and trunk road service area

Purpose of the role:

This role is to deliver, oversee and co-ordinate larger development projects in Great Britain through site identification, acquisition, design, planning, construction and handover to the Operations team

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage all site identification and acquisition.
  • Manage all discussions/negotiations with landowners, Highways Agency, Planning Authorities and other stakeholders
  • Manage all pre-acquisition feasibility and viability.
  • Manage the planning process.
  • Oversee the Construction team to co-ordinate and manage site constraints and risks.
  • Planning and monitoring of the delivery programme within the constraints of the business plan and budget, producing monthly reports for sites under the programme.
  • Overseeing the tendering, appointment, coordination and payment of professional consultants, reporting monthly against agreed targets and savings.
  • Set budgets, time-scales and responsibilities for the Construction team in appointing consultants
  • Oversee the Construction team to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the design team
  • Regularly review the development program in line with deadlines, managing any slippage
  • Overseeing the Construction team to ensure that the contract and legal documentation is in order at all stages and prior to the Operations team handover
  • Overseeing the Construction team to ensure statutory health and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Management and co-ordination of the input of the Operations team.
  • Management of the Operations Department requirements and continuous review of specification in conjunction with the Design Department.
  • Maximise the development value of the projects whilst maintaining high level quality design.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Degree qualified
• Previous experience in a similar role essential
• Working to high profile deadlines within the constraints of a budget.
• Travel will be required from time to time all parts of Great Britain.
• Some flexibility on working hours will be required.
