XMBC/Kodi - too good to be true?
I cut the cable a few years ago and have never really looked back. But im now in a pain in the arse situation of having to download everything, the laptop that I use is starting to pack up.
I keep hearing about this XMBC/Android thingymajig, but having never seen it with my own two eyes, I'm not convinced if its any good. If something sounds too good to be true...
Does anyone here have it? Is the viewing quality good? etc
I'm particularly interested in live TV (premier league).

XMBC is just a way of presenting your media. It has some plugins that go get stuff too. But that is only as reliable as the plugin. I am guessing you have an add-on in mind. USTV VoD, maybe?
Cricfree.sx is one way for the live sports.
I have use XBMC in the past, on the 'puter and the pi, but the only feature I miss is it remembering which episodes I have already watched.
I like Sick beard for getting TV shows, tell it what series to get, and it get all the episodes, and they are waiting on my media player.

I use it via a hacked apple TV2.
It's very good, quality is fine. We watch a lot of our UK shows using it.
We previously used it on a hacked Xbox, so I guess we have been using it for about 5 years.
There are plenty of platforms that it will run on, we use the apple tv because it fits nicely into our entertainment system.
If and when the ATV dies I will probably build a dedicated PC running Kodi.
It's free to download and use, so give it a go.
